In other news, there's not much news. Same ole, same ole, really. My mom and brother have moved back in with us. We put Spencer's bedroom in the basement and set up cable down there for him. He's pretty much a happy camper. It gives him a little more freedom and he doesn't have to ask permission all the time to watch TV in the living room. While the cable guy was here, we had him put cable in our bedroom, too. I said I'd never do this, but I kinda like it. Just some nights, it's nice to snuggle up and watch something together instead of having to try to situate ourselves together on the couch. We aren't using it non-stop and I really hope we won't. I've always been a firm believer that the bedroom should be a place of SLEEP, and not associated with shoot-em-up movies and football games. We'll see how it goes.
I just want to mention that one of my cats, my old cat Tuxedo, is always sleeping on one of the vents in the living room. We shoo her off all the time and tell her not to be so selfish with the heat, but she doesn't listen. She covers the WHOLE vent and nothing comes out into the room! I just looked over and she's on it again. Dang cat!
Well, onto scrapping. I've actually done quite a few pages since I posted last. I had some creative juices flowing for a couple of weeks, so here goes! (Yikes, I just looked and I've done 13 pages since then. This could take a while! Just hang in there with me. I think this is the best part, anyway!)
This is my least favorite of all I've done recently. I almost didn't even keep it, but thought, oh, what the heck.

Last year, I got the idea of scrapping some recipes in 8x10 size to frame and hang on my kitchen wall. I'm even going to paint my kitchen the blue or green in the kits. I redid the Chili one I had done already because it was pretty bad, and I did a new one, too. Mmmmmm. Foooooood.

I did a few pages of Maylee reading. You all know how important reading is to me (us), so I thought I'd put down some reading memories. This first one was with photos from a long time ago. Sigh, my little girl is so big now, but she's still using a paci in these pics!

These photos are some of my favorite ever taken of my little girl. I had used these pics in a LO earlier in my "scrap career" and it was horrible! These pictures are just too important to me not to have in a great LO. So I redid it...and I love it. My sweet baby girl!!!!

And last but not least, a LO I did of some fun we had this past weekend.

So that's that. I'm just going to sign off now before I start rambling on about something or other. Like how I'm listening to this awesome book at work right now, The Help by Kathryn Stockett. The narration is so great and I can't wait to get to work every morning so I can start it. I'm loving it so much!
Okay, I'm really shutting up now. Love to all!
You've been busy putting layouts together. I wish I could be as industrious. They all look great.
ReplyDeleteOh...smart cat. :)
What a fun idea of framing your recipes for your kitchen..hmm...I just may have to confiscate that idea for mine!
ReplyDeleteGreat pages, as usual! Great ideas on the recipes, too.
ReplyDeleteWe have a TV in our room now but it can only play DVDs and I've used it like um twice when I was sick LOL. It's at a bad angle too. But we had TV when we were downstairs until that one broke and it was not bad. We used it for our alarm clock for a while as it had a come-on timer, so we'd wake to the news.
Your recipes as art idea is FANTASTIC! I've seen other people scrap recipes, but I always thought it would be weird to have them in a book (with regular layouts). But as decor - that is fantastic!! I'm going to do that!
